FEDOMU PARTICIPATES IN REGIONAL WORKSHOP


A delegation of the Dominican Federation of Municipalities (FEDOMU), attended the Regional Workshop: "Training for Trainers Local Development Agents in Central America and the Dominican Republic, on 6,7 and 8 July in San Salvador, El Salvador. Which was sponsored by the Foundation for Local Development and Municipal and Institutional Strengthening of Central America and the Caribbean (DEMUCA Foundation), the English Agency and Development (AECI), the Corporation of Municipalities of the Republic of El Salvador (COMURES) and the Centre for Development Studies and Planning (CEDETES).

The workshop with the participation of 7 countries in Central America: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama and Dominican Republic was developed under the project "Support to Municipal and Local Power in Central America "which aims to promote democratic governance systems of local governments and building capacities installed in the countries in Local Economic Development.

The Dominican representation made by Dr. Amantina Gomez Villa Township Trustee BisonĂ³, Mr. Felix Santos, Enc. Project Management and Engineering FEDOMU and Vanessa Reyes Russi, Coord. Technique of the Association of Municipalities of the Region Cibao Noroeste (ASOMURENO), developed in panel discussions difrentes topics: Building a Local Economic Development Perspective, Analysis of territory and involucardos agents, analysis and maps sitacional power Case studies, definition of the components of Local Economic Development, Development Tools and Instruments DEL, Matrix shares, Construction of indicators, among others. In order to enrich the Municipal Toolkit for the Promotion of Local Economic Development, the Project carried out between the Foundation and AECID DEMUCA.

representatives of municipalities and the Dominican Republic in the coming months will be the ability and commitment to replicate in their respective countries, this module Enforcement Training Local Economic Development, which will consolidate conditions that promote local development with social equity and a more decentralized planning.
